CAAC Members Art Show

A wonderful evening awaits those who attend the Chickasha Area Arts Council's first MEMBERS' ART SHOW at its new home, 521 W. Chickasha Avenue!

The opening reception is Fri., May 6, 2022 from 5pm-9pm. A "Silent Auction" will be held from 5pm-8pm. The display

At least 25 CAAC members are displaying
some of their art pieces in the 521 Art Gallery. Many artworks will be for sale and others are for display.

City-Wide Garage Sale Weekend

A city garage sale permit will not be required for May 13-15. Check the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page or the link below for a list of sales!

As a part of the weekend, the Rotary Club of Chickasha will be having a fundraiser sale at the Williams Shoes building (319 W Chickasha Ave.) on Saturday the 14th from 8 am to noon.

Have items that didn't sell? Goodwill and the Festival of Light will be accepting donations at Shannon Springs Park on Saturday. Goodwill will collect the donated items and make a donation to the Festival of Light based on the amount collected.

NAIA Softball World Series Opening Round

Science & Arts will be hosting Opening Round games for the NAIA Softball National Championship. Four teams will compete over three days for a berth in the NAIA World Series in Columbus, Georgia.

This is a double elimination bracket and there will be 6 (7 if necessary) games played over three days.

Tuesday's Schedule:
College of Idaho vs. Science & Arts, 11:00 am
Ottawa vs. Mount Marty, 2:30 pm
College of Idaho vs. Ottawa, 6:00 pm

Wednesday's Schedule:
Idaho/Ottawa vs. Science & Arts, 12:00 pm
If necessary, the teams will play again at 3:00 pm.

Texas Hill - Live in Concert

Texas Hill is a gritty amalgam of overlapping tastes and distinct voices that meet in the middle as a bold harmonic trio.

Craig Wayne Boyd offers a voice full of gospel-tinged country smoke, Adam Wakefield blends a rootsy bluegrass-and-Americana rasp, and Casey James wraps it with a blue-eyed soul quality and deft blues guitar chops.

The result is a band that's both rock solid and highly adaptive. Texas Hill is instantly identifiable, thanks to its well-developed signature sound: a proud, in-your-face harmonic wall. But each of the three singers can, and does, take over the lead, inevitably pushing the group in his own unique direction while those harmonies allow the whole ensemble to hang on to its sonic center.

Chickasha Community Theatre: The Little Mermaid Jr.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.
